Bunker Hill Community College’s enormous success in recent years has resulted in a lack of sufficient space.
Governed by the framework of NBBJ’s 2007 master plan, the demands of the current curriculum and increased enrollment, and the current emphasis on promoting student success, our 2014 master plan update proposes an amended framework that identifies programs to be prioritized and implemented with the current available earmark funding.
Beyond the immediate future, the report addresses the need to provide: permanent newly constructed instructional space on the main campus; the continued future development of interior and exterior student activity space; the development of a Campus Landscape Plan that can be implemented in phased construction; the phased development of a newly envisioned main entry plaza along with repurposing and/or redevelopment of Building A; and the long-term development of new academic buildings within the central quadrangle space.
