In 2019, NBBJ was again selected to continue our work at Bunker Hill Community College.
There were 18 instruction spaces that needed to relocate from Building H to the Charlestown campus. Rather than replicate the exact sizes and types of classrooms that exist at Building H into the new project, NBBJ was asked to analyze the entire main campus instruction space inventory to determine what type, capacity, and quantity of classrooms should be included in the program for a new classroom building.
The analysis found that BHCC is in need of classrooms that are, on average, smaller then the typical classrooms. In addition, some of the smaller 6-12 person classrooms can double as huddle rooms, group study rooms, and conference spaces for staff and faculty.
